You have the opportunity to acquire unique pieces of design devised by young talents who seek to express their creativity and a new way of seeing the world.

Juan Guillen is the creator of Operatum. Practically self-taught, he has come to the world of craftsmanship late. Working with his hands and designing objects had always been his passion, but not in a professional way. With the help of small courses and his research has been forming in the field of ceramics.

operatum (1)

His first line, with which he decided to make himself known is clear organic inspiration. Forms inspired by nature, mainly marine although in a very personal way. It does not try to imitate species, but to be inspired by them. He imagines that they are life forms of an ocean on a planet yet to be discovered.

operatum (2)

He loves white pottery, although occasionally also colors appear, mixing them for original enamels.

operatum (3)

At first he focused on the world of decoration, which he is passionate about, but looking for a diversification currently also works pieces of costume jewelry. This has bee a discovery, since working in small format facilitates the experimentation and opens new possibilities within this line.

operatum (4)

The nobility of pottery and its durability have made it a very popular material lately in jewelry and jewelery. Despite the heaviness with which it is associated, it is much lighter than other materials such as metals, glass or resins.

operatum (5)

John’s work is completely modeled by hand, without using any mold, except the very tools of the trade. That’s why each piece is unique. It works in a very intuitive way, starting from a sketch or an idea in his head, the piece is taking shape as you ask, as if it really was growing.
