Teulada-Moraira , in Alicante, is an urban center divided into two distinct physical units by distance. Auditorium Teulada-Moraria is located at the highest core, Teulada, on the highest point of the city, being visible from both cores.

The work of the navarre architect Francisco Mangado, obtained the Chicago Athenaeum design international price awarded by the Chicago Athenaeum and the European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.

The architect tried with this project to recreate the “permament language that is established between two natural elements such as sea and mountain”. The topographical features and the unevenness of the plot is also become active conditions of the architectural solution.

The auditorium is adapted to the natural topography of the land descendant. The building is relatively smooth and clean shapes. The arrangement of parts undergoes a geometric and spatial transformation: its grand facade follows a geometric, deep and carefully sculpted, as if it were a diamond design. The different inclinations on the facade respond to different solar positions, with the intention to avoid direct incidence of light.

Floor and ceiling, folded as a metaphor of a rocky beach that merges with the sea in the distance. The main crawlspaces, organize and guide actively seeking the views of Moraira and the sea. Side the main auditorium halls become great vantage points into the dinstance and the sea. Its structure is complex, without pillars and with a flat glass.
