Hotel proposal in Plaza de España designed by A-cero: Interior

Today the architecture studio A-cero, directed by Joaquin Torres and Rafael Llamazares presents interior images of the proposal submitted to the contest last month for the reform and conditioning of a hotel in Plaza de España in Madrid. The study won the 2nd place with the project that we disclose below.

SKETCH

LOCATION

The concept of the proposal comes from a fundamental premise, turn this hotel into a milestone inside Plaza de España, as a complement of other emblematic buildings in this square and to be, by itself, an element of great attractive, different, and prominent over the rest of the capital hotel establishments.

HOTEL PROPOSAL

You can get more information on this proposal and see the exterior views on the post posted earlier:

INTERIRO VIEWS

5* Reception:

On the first floor, at the Plaza de España level, we find the independent accesses to the 5 star hotel, spa & gym, sky bar and restaurant. In this impressive double-height hall we find different elements that incorporate the architecture of the hotel inside. In this open space the lighting is solved through led strip lights drawn by organic lines in the ceiling and a large glass lamp designed by A-cero. Facing the stairs, treated as sculptural blocks, the wall becomes an art showcase with panels that remind us the volumes of the main facade.

Courtyard view:

The building’s architecture is present in the aesthetics of the interior. In this courtyard both the interior design and the garden landscaping remind us to the facade volumes. Facing the balconies, finished in corten steel sloping panels are suspended luminaires also inclined, with an orthogonal design.

Bedroom prototype:

The rooms share this aesthetic of the set, with indirect lighting projected on the panels profiles that decorate the walls, reminding the facade lighting.

Lounge Bar:

This space is proposed for the enjoyment and entertainment of the customers. A sober aesthetic with a  clean and pure lines design where various elements try to mark again the verticality of the whole building.
